Bought this game when I was a kid, found it on the discount rack at the local movie rental store. $2. I looked at it "Soviet Mind Game" and its like- wow, im getting an obscure secretive brain training thing from the east! Many years later I learned the backstory about how what turned out to be a mega classic found itself on the discount rack for $2 when it was practically brand new. Mom wound up playing more than anyone, and we'd stay up late at night cheering her on. The long pieces she called Mercy Sticks. I never quit playing it: the tengen version, the nintendo version, in computer programming class I played Blocks from Hell on a Tandy, Tetrisphere when it came out, at work on an emulator, and these days on the Switch.
